birdfeedersBird Feeders
We have been very busy making 50 bird feeders.  These feeders are to be distributed throughout parts of the Blue Mountains that have been ravaged by past bush fires.  It is a project being undertaken by bird lovers and it is hoped that the feeders, once supplied with a regular topping up, will encourage the birds to return.

Toys 15Toys
For the past few months we have been beavering away making toy cars, planes, graders, trucks and black boards for Operation Christmas Child. On Monday 7th September we were able to present to Craig Jennings, from Samaritan Purse Australia, 165 wooden toys and 41 double sided black boards. Craig gave a short talk on the activities of his group overseas and particularly their work in Cambodia and faced a number of thoughtful questions afterwards.

Bench type seats have been made to create an outdoor classroom for Springwood Public School.Fabricating the steel uprights required the brushing up on some past skills, which demonstrated that members do have a wide range of abilities for undertaking projects. The seats when finished were taken to site and concreted in the ground to create the permanent outdoor classroom which allows open air lessons in comfort. And we managed to get into the local press.

Springwood resident, Robyn Crouch, donated a couple of Drill Presses and other items, and so we offered to build her a chook run to say thank you. A number of visits were made and the Chook Run took shape with Robyn keen to to get some chooks into a safe area that would prevent unwanted guests in the shape of a fox or two.  On completion Robyn was pleased with the result and all those involved can feel proud and satisfied with a job well done.
