Welcome to the Nepean Men’s Shed
Men’s Health is our focus. Come and say G’day!
Nepean Men’s Shed (NMS) provides a place where men, over the age of 18, from all walks of life can come together in a safe, caring and socially nurturing environment. Our shed has a lot to offer, wood and metal working areas, machinery shop, welding bay, scale modeller’s and train enthusiasts’ workshops, laser cutters, and vegetable gardens. It is all here. Come and have a coffee and a chat, have a game of pool, play table tennis, read a book from our extensive library, browse the internet, or learn new skills, or just come and hammer, cut, saw and drill.
What We Do
Join the Shed
Are you looking for a place to share your skills or perhaps you are keen to learn new skills or just enjoy other men’s company? Do you need a reason for getting out of bed in the morning or have difficulty finding something to do during the day or for part of the day? The Nepean Men’s Shed may be the place for you where you can utilize your skills, learn something new or just mingle and enjoy great company.
The Nepean Men’s Shed is a member of the Australian Men’s Shed Association (AMSA) whose motto is ‘Shoulder to Shoulder’. Our shed provides a welcoming space where men of all ages can come together to work on projects, have a cup of tea or coffee and support one another.
Whether you are handy with tools or just want some good conversation, there’s always something to do and someone open for a chat. It’s more than a workshop – it’s a place to belong, contribute and make a difference in the community.
Come along and see what we are creating together!
Discover What We’ve Made
Our shed’s community projects are all about building community, connection, and purpose through hands-on-work and shared creativity. Our focus is as much on camaraderie and wellbeing as it is on craftsmanship. These projects help strengthen local ties, boost confidence, and promote mental health by giving members a sense of belonging and achievement.
How it all Began
Michael Burlace, who initially conceived the idea of the Lower Blue Mountains Men’s Shed (LMMS) during 2008, announced he was leaving the area early December 2010, following which Ramon U’Brien took on the role of endeavouring to establish a shed.
On Tuesday, 14th December 2010 at 9:45am, five men (Colin Dubi, Colin Carr, Robert Burcher, Francis Andrew Howard, and Ramon U’Brien) gathered at 19 Calver Avenue, Mt Riverview to discuss setting up a Men’s Shed.
