Build, Create, Connect!

All prospective members are asked to attend the Shed on three separate occasions; this ensures the shed is a good fit for both the applicant and the existing members. The prospective member’s formal application will be reviewed at the following monthly committee meeting.

Once accepted, the applicant participates in two processes: Induction and Assessment.  A senior member will induct him into the practices of the shed, the policies and, most importantly, safety issues. The applicant is then assessed on his capability to use workshop equipment before being allowed to use such. Some equipment requires special training.

One’s safety and working in a safe environment is the essential consideration. It is incumbent upon everyone to be safe, to work in a clean and safe environment and to look after other’s safety.

Membership fees are currently $55 per financial year (July to June). This assists the shed to meet its public liability, building and contents insurance and every day running expenses.

Some members benefits and responsibilities:

  • A great opportunity to make new friends with similar interests and other interests.

  • Share your know-how or acquire new skills.

  • Enjoy a cuppa, a chat, and plenty of laughs – no pressure, no deadlines, just good company and shared interests.

  • Our shed is more than just making things.

  • The shed holds a BBQ for members towards the end of every month.

  • Our shed encourages members to stay active, keep their mind engaged, and enjoy the mental health benefits of social connection and teamwork.

  • Camaraderie is also fostered through participation in fundraising activities, including sausage sizzles and market stalls, which contributes to a cohesive team that generates funds for the shed. Participation in these activities is strongly encouraged.
